Why deceased Sontakke’s name not include in Nitika tragedy? Admn must reply


Nagpur: Vikas Sontakke, an employee of Nikita Pharma died of burn injuries in Orange City Hospital after a battling for life for 8 days, on Wednesday evening. It may be mentioned that till now his name has not appeared in the Company’s list of injured persons. A fire had fire broken out in Nikita Pharma a few days back.

Vikas Sontakke, 23, was a resident of Old Jaripatka, WCL road and had been working as helper in Nitika Pharma since last year.

On the fateful day he was in 9 am to 6 pm shift as usual and working near the machine where a loud explosion occured in Nikita Pharma and a fire broke out . Before he could know what had happened and could run for his life he became the victim of chemical that was coming out and the fire that was spreading and received 45 per cent burn injuries.

Instead of taking him to the Mayo Hospital the company contractor Bunty admitted him in Hope hospital on Kamptee road and soon after two three days he was shifted to Orange City Hospital where he died after five days.

While talking to “Maharashtra Today”, the neighbour of the deceased informed that the name Vikas was not there in list of injured persons.

Vikas Sontakke was the only son of his parents, his father is ailing and his mother works as housemaid. The entire house used to run on salary of Vikas and now the parents have been deprived of that too.

While talking to ‘Maharashtra Today’ the neighbours said that the company should include name of Vikas in the list of deceased persons and demanded that the government should give some aid to the kin of the deceased so that the parents can somehow survive on that.
