Kerela: Two women who had earlier tried to enter Sabrimala temple, had finally succeeded in making history as they entered the Sabarimala Shrine in the wee hours around 3.45 am on Wednesday.
The two women devotees identified as Bindu and Kanakdurga reportedly in their 40s, released a video of them entering the Sabarimala sanctorum. According to the police the women entered with limited security, and a police team accompanied them in civil dress.
Addressing a press conference, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan confirmed that the two women had entered the shrine, and a standing order has been passed for the security of the women.
Many women belonging to the menstrual age group including Bindu and Kanakdurga made an attempt to enter the holy place after the Supreme Court ruled out the historic ban on women of particular age group.
