State govt approval to construct 3,000 wells in Chandrapur

Chandrapur: The state government has sanctioned construction of over 3,000 new wells under Zilla Parishad to provide pure water to farmers and animals and making the district drought free.

To solve the irrigation problems in theVidarbha region, construction of total 11,000 well were sanctioned in 2015-16. The prime objectives of project‘11,000 Sinchan Vihiri’ is to supply pure water to farmers for farming and animals in Vidarbha region. Total 3,000 new constructions of wells were sanctioned in the district in 2015-16.

M D Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Chandrapur, said that they have got target of 3,000 new wells to be constructed. They have already issued work orders for the construction of 2,929 new wells in the district.

Total Rs 250 lakh will be provided to the beneficiary farmers for the construction of new wells in teh fields. Further, he claimed that the BDOs of different areas in the district will conduct a survey and send a report after which the money will be transferred into the account of beneficiary farmer.
