Spl Article: Raut again targets BJP on VRS of Bihar DGP

Sanjay Raut

The on-going war of words between the Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Kangana Ranaut and her supporters on the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput that started two months ago shows no signs of ending. Even though the Sena spokesman Raut said that Kangana Ranaut and SSR are not an issue for him anymore and added that the country was facing several other issues. But it seems that the warring Sena leader refused to budge on commenting any issue that relates BJP.

As Bihar’s Director-General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey had announced his voluntary retirement from service ahead of the assembly polls, the vocal Rajya Sabha member Raut again tried to politicise it and hit back his rival BJP for allegedly using Pandey to fulfil its political agenda against Maharashtra in SSR’s death case.

Targetting Pandey, he claimed that the former DGP can join politics soon. However, there is no confirmation and no official statement has been made by any political party or by the former DGP Pandey himself. The Sena leader who is “infamous” for making any wild allegations against the BJP and its supporters said that people will not trust the party which will make him a candidate. “The agenda behind his political stance on Maharashtra has now become clear. He was running a political agenda through his statements in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and is now going to take the award for it,” Raut spewed venom against the BJP and Pandey.

But Raut could not justify his remarks against Pandey. What were the crimes of Pandey? Was it a crime if he had questioned the Mumbai police that an IPS officer, Vinay Tiwari from Patna was forcibly quarantined by the BMC officials with connivance of Mumbai police? Even if he joins politics and contests the ensuing elections, is it a crime?

Former Bihar DGP Pandey was extremely vocal during the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death had slammed the Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra and the Mumbai Police for their “dubious” role into the late actor’s death. “Only those who feel threatened by me and have a low mentality will say such things,” Pandey said and added, “If we fought for justice for Sushant Singh Rajput, as a DGP, whatever I did, the Supreme Court endorsed and called it above board.”

Political pundits feel that it would be a wise decision for the Sena leadership in the interest of the party to keep Raut’s mouth shut for few days! His statements would only harm the party in coming days as people have realised that he opposes BJP just for the sake of opposition!
