The Bollywood film-maker, Anurag Kashyap, who ridiculed Kangana Ranaut through a tweet, now claimed said that he feels safe in Maharashtra as he can speak without fear. His statement again came just as a contradiction against the remarks of Kangana, who said that she felt unsafe in Mumbai after the Shiv Sena spokesman, Sanjay Raut and senior Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik threatened her when she raised voice against the “murder” of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and insisted for a proper inquiry.

On Saturday, Kashyap, a bête noire of Kangana and her supporters, said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has changed his perception of the party, Shiv Sena. Anurag sarcastically said that Kangana is the true Manikarnika, and should be sent to China to fend off incursion when the well-known Hindi film actress took cudgels against the Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra after the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The film-maker said that due to several things, his perception about the Sena has undergone a change and that the chief Uddhav Thackeray is the reason. He said he may not agree with the Chief Minister of many things but still, he feels safer as he can speak without fear.

Criticising the government, Kashyap claimed that they are trying to distract people from the real issues and focus just on Bollywood. He further said he is not pro-Congress. But he is against the government that the way it is functioning, obviously referring to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, people of the country know that Kashyap is a vehement critic of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP from the beginning.

Talking about Maharashtra, Anurag said, “I am very happy in Maharashtra, because whatever my perception of Shiv Sena in the past, for me Uddhav Thackeray is much better than what he was earlier. He has changed his perception. I feel much safer here. Even though I disagree with him. I totally demolishment, I totally do not condone Sanjay Raut calling Kangana ‘haramkhor.’ I do not condone that. I totally disagree with that. But I still feel safer. I can say this out without fear. I said this,” he said. But the Bollywood director didn’t spell out what type of perception has been changed in Shiv Sena and its leader, Uddhav Thackeray. Is he referring that the Sena has evidently shunned its core ideology of Hindutva to form an alternative government with Congress and NCP in Maharashtra?

However, when Sanjay Raut described Kangana as “haramkhor” Kashyap was kept mum. Kashyap’s statement came only after the NCB arrested several people, along with Rhea Chakraborty and unearthed a drug-nexus in Bollywood. While making the statement that he is safe in Maharashtra, the Bollywood director also questioned the investigation agency saying that how the government may be using Bollywood as a distraction from real issues like COVID 19 and more. By making such statements his hypocrisy was again exposed.
