Shiv Sena criticises Amruta Fadnavis for critical remarks against Sena

Neelam Gorhe - Amruta Fadnavis

Mumbai : The ruling Shiv Sena on Friday attacked Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis over her critical remarks against the ruling party in Maharashtra and said she should realise that every alphabet was important.

Ms Fadnavis, who is also a good singer, on Thursday took a jibe at the Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena over its poor performance in the just held Bihar assembly elections and called it “Shav (corpse) Sena”.

Taking a strong exception over the statement, the Sena, which heads the MVA government in Maharashtra, told her to realise the importance of alphabets in her own name. “Don”t let the alphabet ”A” in your name go into “mruta” state (dead in Marathi). Realise the importance of ”A” in your name Amruta.

“Don’t bring bad thoughts in your mind during the auspicious occasion of Diwali,” the deputy chairperson of the state legislative council and the Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said.

In a tweet, Amruta on Bihar polls said, “What is going on exactly? The Shav Sena did kill its own colleague (Congress) in Bihar.” No matter where they (Sena) are taking Maharashtra, but thanks to Devendra for putting Bihar at right place, she added in the tweet. Devendra Fadnavis was the in-charge of the BJP’s campaign for Bihar polls and he has a lion share for the outstanding performance of the BJP in the state.
