Yet no arrest in senior citizen Nimgade murder case, Kin blames police investigation
Nagpur: More than a month passed, still is there is no arrest in Eknath Nimgade’s murder case. Nimgade,74, was shot to death by unknown masked youths near Agrasen Square on September 9. Demanding immediate arrest of the accused, Nimgade’s kin with the support of Republican Party of India briefed the media persons at Patrakar Bhavan on Thursday evening.
As per the police complaint, two to three people had allegedly shot Nimgade around seven rounds. He died during treatment at Mayo hospital on the same day. The relatives claimed that since then police has been assuring them to nab the killers.
The relatives claimed that they have already alleged names of some suspected persons to police.
“We have informed police that the murder was planned over property dispute allegedly by Maksuda Ali Siddiqui, Anil Nayar and others.”said a relative.
The family members had appealed to CP for immediate arrest of the killers and have demanded CBI probe in the case.
“The police investigation is still at the same point. There is no development in the case. Police are giving just assurance,”said a family member.
Addressing the media persons, Nimgade family claimed that the killers political contacts has restricted police in taking strict action against the accused.
