Jalna: BJP leader thrashes farmer’s family over land dispute


Jalna :- A Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader along with his aides allegedly brutally publically thrashed a farmer’s family in Jalna over a dispute on land rights.

The leader, identified as the party’s Kisan Morcha District Chief, Rao Sahib Bhawar while the farmer, whose family was assaulted, was identified as Vitthal Khandebharad. The row involved an agricultural land in Nivdunga village in Jalna’s Jafarabad taluka and was caught on camera.

As per reports, Bhawar had brought heavy JCB machinery to the field to dig a well on the land. The move was protested by the farmer’s family, following which Bhavar proceeded to thrash the farmer and his family.

The video footage, showed the supporters of the BJP leader mercilessly beating up the farmer’s family including the women of the family. They were slapped and pulled by their hair by the men riding the motorcycles.

Notably, the incident took place on a day when the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party, including CM Devendra Fadnavis, was present in Jalna for a crucial meeting of the State Executive Committee. Meanwhile, the family has filed a police complaint against the BJP leader for assault and a police probe was underway in the matter.

The Tembhurni police have booked 11 people, including Bhawar, for rioting and molestation.
