Jalgaon : Nisha Patil from Bhadgaon in Jalgaon district would be awarded with National Bravery Award-2016 announced by the Chairperson of Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW ) Geeta Siddharth in New Delhi for the extraordinary courage displayed by her in saving a six month old girl.
On 14th January 2015 morning when Nisha had come to visit her friend, she noticed smoke coming out of neighbour’s house. Within no time the house was on fire. On coming to know that a toddler was inside the house Nisha immediately she entered the house without bothering about her own safety.
When the mother of the toddler girl returned home after dropping her elder child to the school, she saw her house was on fire but was relieved to see her daughter safe in Nisha’ hands. She thanked Nisha for her courage.
Nisha, who studies in Adarsh Kanya Kanishtha Mahavidyalaya, Bhadgaon in class XII, was g praised for her courage and bravery by villagers and members of locality. She claims to have inspired herself from a lesson ‘Sahasi Balak’ (Brave Child) in the Hindi textbook of class VIII.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has congratulated Nisha Patil on her selection fpor the bravery award Award. Nisha is the only one from Maharashtra out of the 25 who have got selected from the entire nation, said the Chief Minister.
