Governor C Vidyasagar Rao opens bridge on Godavari

Gadchiroli: The The 1.62 kilometer long bridge constructed at a cost of Rs. 292 crore on Godavari bridge which is connecting Sironcha in Maharashtra with Kaleshwaram Temple town in Telangana was inaugurated at the hands of Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasahgar Rao. Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir and Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, District Guardian Minister Raje Ambrishrao Maharaj were also present.

In Maharashtra, 29 works covering a length of 454 Kms with a sanctioned cost of about 1000 crores have been taken up. In Gadchiroli, 22 works covering a length of 358 kms costing 900 crores have been sanctioned under the LWE scheme. A foundation stone of the two more bridges proposed to be built on Indravati and Pranhita rivers were laid by the honourable Governor during this visit.

This being the Naxal infested area there was tight security.
