Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and Shiv Sena executive chief Uddhav Thackeray seems to have buried their +so called+ political difference and have started sailing together again much to the delight of saffron combine. Today they not only shared dais at a function in Washim district in Western Vidarbha over Banjara community programme but showered praises on each other and thereby
sending a strong signal of their continuation of saffron alliance.
This was much awaited moment as after months of bitterness and accusations and threatening to snap ties with BJP and fight out the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in summer next year and later the Assembly elections in Winter 2019, for the first time, Sena chief seems to have mended his ways to heap praise of Fadanvis.
Well on granting the much awaited reservation in education and employment to the members of Maratha community in Maharashtra, both the alliance partners struck cordial chord. Sena not only backed the demand of Maratha community but extended full support to the BJP led government on the floor of the House in State Legislature in adopting the Gaikwad Commission report in toto. Sena Ministers and MLAs were on the forefront of celebrations outside the Vidhan Bhawan and elsewhere to share the credit for giving the reservations.
Since no party can afford to displease Marathas, a dominant caste in State politics, Sena and BJP struck good combination and paved the way for reservations. That was probably beginning of restoration of not only ties but confidence between the ruling partners.Today Thackeray extended greetings to Fadanvis for implementing the reservation quota while Chief Minister acknowledged his gesture in extending support.
Fadanvis who has just completed four years in office broke the protocol and accompanied Thackeray in latter’s vehicle, may be some more private discussions which they could not otherwise do
