Bodies of two Maharashtra jawan arrives to their native places


Buldhana : The mortal remains of two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans wrapped in tricolour were brought to their native places Buldhana on Saturday.

The bodies of martyrs Nitin Shivaji Rathod (36) and Sanjay Singh Dixit (47) were brought to the Chikalthana airport.

The two jawans were among the 40 CRPF personnel killed in Pulwama terror attack on Thursday.

Rathod belonged to Buldhana’s Chorpangra village in Lonar tehsil, Rajput hailed from Malkapur village in the same district.

“Rathod’s body was sent to his village in a CRPF van, while Rajput’s mortal remains was taken to his native place in a chopper,” Inspector General of CRPF, Raj Kumar said.

Several ministers and political parties paid tributes to the slain soldiers when the bodies arrived at the airport.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday announced financial aid of Rs 50 lakh each to the families of the two jawans. He also assured that the state will provide complete support to the education of the slain soldiers’ children.
