Banks should be sensitive while disposing crop loan-CM

Mumbai:The banks should consider the disbursing of crop loan to the farmers as their national duty and they should show sensitivity while distributing the loan asserted the Chief Minister of the state Mr Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking at a meeting of senior bank officers of different banks held today in the Hall of cabinet in Mantralaya. The Chief Minister took a stock of Hybrid Annuity road construction in the state and answered the queries of the banks satisfactorily.

Public Work Department Minister Mr Chandrakant Patil, Public works Department (public undertaking) Minister Eknath Shinde, Employment Guarantee scheme Minister Jaykumar Rawal, minister of state for Public Works Department Pravin Pote-Patil, President of State Bank of India Rajnish Kumar and others were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister further said that the Kharif season has started in the state and the sowing of seeds have been undertaken by the farmers. They need money to buy seeds and fertilizers so they should be given the crop loan within the stipulated duration. He lamented that many Local Bank branches are insensitive in this regard so farmers are angry with the behavior of the banks. He directed that all the banks should order their local branches to disburse the crop loan as soon as possible.

The chief minister further said that last month a state level meeting of Bankers committee was held and some decisions related to crop loan distributing was taken. He said that these decisions should be followed by all the banks. He also asked the local branches of the bank to consider disbursing of Crop loans to the farmers as their National duty. Mr Fadnavis said that the farmer should be given the loan for sowing the seeds with immediate effect.

Chief Minister reviews hybrid annuity road construction

Meanwhile, the chief minister took a review of the Hybrid Annuity road construction in this meeting. He asked the banks to help in this National construction. He said that in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati and Nagpur division 10 thousand km long Hybrid Annuity roads are to be constructed through the medium of 177 construction works. He said that, till date, the finalizing of tender is in the last phase and the construction of roads will begin from 15th of July.

He said that the tender of 4539 KM long roads has been finalized and all these construction work hard to be completed till may 2019. Mr Fadnavis also asked the banks to co-operate and give loan so that this construction work is completed within time.

Additional chief secretary of Chief Minister Mr Praveen Pardeshi, additional chief secretary of Finance Department UPS Madan, principal secretary of Public Works Department Manoj Sainik, commissioner of Mumbai municipal corporation Ajoy Mehta and senior bank officers of various banks were present on the occasion.
