'Ache din' for Maharashtra farmers to come soon

Mumbai: The central government has decided to give Rs six thousand financial assistance to farmers per year. The decision was given during the economic session of Parliament.

Adding to centre’s decision the state government is also ready to provide relief to the farmers and add on to the amount.

Under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana, the Centre may eliminate the hectare limitation. There is a possibility that it will be discussed in the meeting of the Cabinet today.

The Centre has called for meetings at the PMO as well as in NITI Aayog to finalise the announcement which is likely to occur within this week. In this process, officials of nodal ministries agriculture, revenues, expenditure, chemical and fertilisers, food have been asked to meet informally to iron out any glitches.
