A record high of 11,147 cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra

Mumbai : Even after the state power is taking various measures to fight against Coronavirus, Maharashtra reported a record-high of 11,147 cases in last 24 hours. Mumbai reported 1,208 cases while the larger Mumbai Metropolitan Region accounted for 3,499 cases in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, noted Marathi and Bollywood actor Mohan Joshi has appealed to migrants to follow all the rules and take precautions while travelling to Konkan for the most-awaited Ganesh Utsav to be celebrated next month.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 situation in the country remains grim with record-high numbers being reported every day. While the country saw a spike of 55,000 new cases in the last 24 hours.

In view of growing cases of coronavirus, the Union Health Ministry has said that the given size of India’s population, herd immunity “cannot be a strategic choice or option”, and urged people to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour till a vaccine is developed. The ministry also informed that phase 1 and 2 human clinical trials of two indigenously developed COVID-19 vaccine candidates have started.
