Mumbai: The Sakinaka police on Saturday arrested 2 suspects and a minor was also detained for a murder of a 22 year BPO worker, which has taken place nearly a year ago at Saki Naka.
Siraj Shaikh (22) was murdered while he was walking in Perirawadi in Sakinaka, with his friend Akshay Rego in Perirawadi in Sakinaka.
The accused and the deceased got into an altercation and a sudden fight broke out and the trio assaulted Shaikh. There was CCTV as road construction was under way and police inspector Sunil Mane of Sakinaka tapped all informers to get detailed description of the accused.
The accused who used to reside in a nearby slum pocket in Sakinaka had shifted to Mahul, Chembur making it difficult for us to trace them and none of the three had any prior criminal record, said Mane.
The two accused identified as Arun alias Gulabchand Jaiswal (22) and Irfan alias Monu Sattar Khan (22) while the 17-year-old minor, has been sent to children’s correction home. The police suspect the accused were under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place.
